First off, I do realize there is another thread that has a bunch of tutorials. Except that thread is dedicated for Source Filmmaker only. For this one I wanted to put the focus off of SFM and actually create a collection of tutorials that teach us the concepts of filmmaking and photography, rather than just look at the tool used to create videos or photos. After all, it's one thing to know how to use the tool, but if you don't know the basics of filmmaking or photography you won't be able to make quality stuff. Although the tutorials I link to here will have some kinda of relation with SFM, for example I wont post a link completely about DSLR Cameras because SFM is not a DSLR.
These tutorials won't be in SFM, but focus on the concepts and not the tool being used. You don't need the same exact soft to do these things.
Also all credit goes to the people who make these videos I'm doing the simple task of putting it in one place. I'll be posting a bunch of links rather than embed the whole video to save up on load time and there may be repeats of concepts just in different videos - I'm still not sure whether or not to do this. I'm assuming I'm posting this in the right section but I guess posting somewhat non SFM-related content in the SFM section is fine. I know there is a photography forum and stuff but meh many others and I use SFM so... IDK!!!!!!!!!
I will post in this format: Name-with-link - Difficulty - Maybe a small description here.

Edward Dmytryk's Rules of Film Editing - Basics - This guy knows a crap load stuff about cutting. Take a look these basic rules are really important.
I will update as I find more tutorials, if any of you guys find any then post the links in this thread.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm also going to include a list of miscellaneous things such as awesome free and paying software or links to great websites for learning.
Vimeo Video School - You probably saw a bunch of tutorials up there from this place and there's alot more there that I didn't show.
Tuts Plus - If you want to learn a bunch of stuff about Computer Graphics, Photoshop, After Effects, Web Design, Photography, Audio Production, and a few more creative things then you have to look at this site. They have both free tutorials and tutorials for subscribers. SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE TO FIND THE LINKS TO SPECIFIC HUB PAGES FOR EXAMPLE THERE'S A HUB PAGE JUST FOR AUDIO PRODUCTION.
Blender - The one and only best free 3d software there is, there is a bit of a learning curve but this thing is capable of things the software you pay lots of money for can do. It is a really incredible program. There's a source plugin for it too I think.
Video Copilot - Everyone with After Effects knows these guys, great plugins, lots of tutorials.
Celtx - It's free, open source, can be used on many devices, cloud, what else do you want? It's a great scripting software and if you want more you can pay for the plus edition.
DaVinci Resolve - This is hands down one of the best color grading suites ever. This whole software is dedicated to color correcting and color grading. This is the thousand dollar software that the big names in movies use. Of course the software costs thousands of dollars, BUT THERE IS A LITE VERSION THAT'S COMPLETELY FREE TO USE AS LONG AS ITS FOR NON-COMMERCIAL WORK. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A MONITOR WITH 1920X1080 RESOLUTION OR HIGHER OR ELSE THE SOFTWA
This is very important especially for people new to SFM and film making in general.
thnx
This is fantastic, bookmarking it for future use.
Thanks man, great resource!
Thanks guys. If you ever find anything just link it here and i'll update it.

Awesome.
Where's magic bullet looks ?
I endorse this thread whole heartedly.
Edward Dmytryk, director and/or editor of classic movies like The Caine Mutiny and Some Like It Hot, has a book on editing. This gives a short summary of his seven rules. I think a lot of SFM filmmakers could benefit from reading them, since it's basic stuff that not everyone knows, judging by the videos I've seen.

Alright I'll add it.
@ornafulsamee
Oh and about Magic Bullet Looks. That's a Video Copilot software and there's a link to their website. But if you want on the Color Grading Central website you can get 3 free presets for it.
Edit:
Updated list with:
Celtix - Free Preproduction program.
DaVinci Resolve - A color grading software with a non commercial free version.
Edward Dmytryk's rules of film editing - Some basic rules on film editing. - cecilbdemodded linked this one.
No, MBL is a RED GIANT product, while optical flares are Videocopilot product.
How works Davinci ? Is that a plugin for vegas pro like MBL or another editing log (thats means one more compression, time, etc...).
Does Davinci is better than MBL ?

Yes Davinci is another whole software not a plugin so yea its gonna add more time. Compared to MBL well...
Davinci I'm assuming is better going off prices (probably a dumb idea)
I'm not entirely sure , but i know Davinvi is for the most advanced of colorists.
MBL will work just fine if you don't want to get down really deep into coloring. I just put down Davinci becasue they have a free non-commerical version of a in depth color-correction/grading software.
I'll add MBL to the list though.
