Hey, Folks- I've been working on a "Tip of the Day" series of videos for Source Filmmaker. I try to keep them to be something simple and clear for each one. You may already know some of these, but I hope they're useful to some. Also, they're a great place to send people asking the basic questions like "I spent hours animating this model and then found out it was the wrong one for lipsync halp". For your edification, the YouTube playlist. I update this every weekday with a new tip. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL835902EACBFEE65F Thanks!
you have a nice friendly instructive voice :-)
You have a very sexy voice, sir.
Thank you very kindly. I'm a voice actor and audiobook narrator on the side so I have good equipment and some skills in that regard. :) I appreciate the compliments!
Sexy voice ;)
You sound a lot like one of the citizens from Half Life 2, can't put my finger on any exact lines though.

I do live in Valve's neck of the woods and I think I've even auditioned for their games but never done any work for them (and HL2 came out before I got into VO). But, it gives me hope that I'll be able to land parts in their games someday! ;) [editline]20th July 2012[/editline] Added Tip of the Day #11: Using Locks for Fun and Profit: http://youtu.be/QmgT8UcgBJg
It's the american version of the Stanley Parable narrator :v: This series is something I'll follow.

Actually, if you compare the two, Cyclometh sounds almost like Postal Dude. Hell, if he were to record himself saying some of P. Dude's lines, you might not be able to tell the difference. Anyway, I've watched a couple of these videos before hand. They were really handy, especially the one that taught me how to import custom models. Thanks for these.
Nice tutorials, keep up the good work!
amazing tutorials amazing voice a++ please do more because you're great at it
Tip of the day #12- How to find the automatically-recorded sounds you get when you record video in Source Filmmaker. Also how to apply Soundscripts to eliminate the DSP reverb/echo effect that some maps cause. Linky thing: http://youtu.be/psUNKfkd6yM Video thing: Edit: Didn't take long for someone to point out that you can right-click the track and select "Zoom In" to see the same stuff on the timeline- a feature I was unaware of. I swear, half the time I learn more from doing these things than anyone else does...
Today's Tip of the Day (number 13) is about camera focal distance and aperture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqeWpPZIOwM&hd=1
Good stuff! Thanks for these.
I love you and I love your voice.
Thank you all for the very kind words, it's appreciated! Today's Tip of the Day is inspired by MaxOf2SD's post on SSAO, which I turned into a Tip of the Day. Linky thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM7OVemJ7us Video thing: Of course, I kept saying "SSOA" instead of "SSAO" because I was tired as hell after a 3-hour commute. Ah well. Laugh at my silliness if you will, but the basic premise is valid.
Sexy voice with incredibly useful videos, never stop making these
Sexy voice with incredibly useful videos, never stop making these
Thank you very much. I make enough mistakes in them to keep me honest, but the nice part is that when I do I get to learn too. :)

Oh for fuck's sake. I'm sorry, Max. I plead being tired. I posted a corrected version of your name on the video description and in the comments.
Very simple tip today- how to make a model follow the camera with their eyes. Linky thing: http://youtu.be/r3PUc7AMq5Y Video thing:

Tip of the Day #16- the Default and Zero presets and why they're similar and why they're different. Linky thing: http://youtu.be/QJIrW0vYiso Video thing:
Do you think you could make a video about doing Manual Lipsync? I'm using custom models that can't use auto Lipsync, and I need to figure out how to make Lipsync for them
Tip of the Day #17- The Lens Presets Linky Thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pS_CJCM4VU Video thing:
