I've been using SFM since day 1 and I haven't made a serious video, so I decided to finally fix that. Yes it's all mocap as this was made for a mocap contest. Any thoughts, comments, criticism, etc would be nice.
i think it's funny that if you stare at their feet long enough, you notice they're floating. anyways, i love the atmosphere. 20 times better than anything i could desire to make
i think it's funny that if you stare at their feet long enough, you notice they're floating.
floating? or do you mean sliding? Yeah, there is some unnatural "forward moonwalk" sliding going on.. but I didn't even notice it on my first watch. Walking is really hard to do so I sympathize, but i'm surprised it's still a problem even with mo'capped animation.
i gotta agree, the floating gets to me also the lack of sfx, like for armor clinking
i gotta agree, the floating gets to me also the lack of sfx, like for armor clinking
The floatiness was the result of me using a treadmill to do the mocap. Getting the pelvis movement at the correct speed in SFM is not easy. On the topic of SFX, I did try it out with them, but they gave it a different feel. I chose the no SFX version over the SFX one intentionally.
