Hello, I am currently looking for some assistance with a short film I am working on. If you are an animator or a mapper with some spare time then I hope you would be interested in helping. We would be using half life 2 game assets. Animation 1 or 2 animators to assist me with a short film (10-15 minutes long). I would need assistance with about 3-4 scenes. The two longer scenes last about a minute and a half each. The animations themselves are fairly simple as most of the scenes just require dialogue. The two hardest animations are: 1. A woman being dragged away by two soldiers 2. A man falling down from a gun shot. This is a dramatic project so I would prefer if the animations were emotionally convincing. Mapping For this project I would need two maps to be created. The first map should feature: 1. A large surrounding prarie area 2. Approximately 20-25 foot deep trench that is about 10 feet wide that runs for about an 1/8'th of a mile. 3. The ground at the bottom of the trench should be sand on an even terrain. 4. A tree with a large branch leaning over the middle of the trench. The second map is more complex as it requires the following features: 1. A simple somewhat old fashioned prairie house (Probably a few decades old) with two rooms: A kitchen area and a room for a young teen male. 2. The area surrounding the house will be a large prairie with very little distinguishing landmarks; the most prominent one being a dirt road that leads to the house. The kitchen area will need 2 things: 1. A table in the center of the room and 2. A window that looks out to the dirt road that leads to the house (about 25 feet between the road and the window). The bedroom should feature a bit of a minimalist style to it. The most important feature however will be a desk against the wall. The desk should have a plant, a computer and a microscope on it. I've provided a picture album that features what I have in mind for this house: http://imgur.com/a/dpGw7#2 If you decide you are interested then I just ask that you post samples of your previous work. Like I said I am willing to offer payment. I would like to state that I am just a college student with a limited income but we can discuss the details of the payment/project if you decide you are interested. The deadline is flexible. Thanks for your time and consideration.
10-15 minute long project? Sounds like a big project. Takes me about a week to make a 1-2minute short. Good luck finding someone to help you! You should post your own work so people have an idea what skills you have and how big your audience is. So people are more willing to work with you.

After I complete this project I hope to release a shorter film every month or so depending on my schedule. I don't have a large audience to show this to but perhaps that will change as I start promoting it once the film is almost complete. As of previous work here is my last project:

Oh boy.
How is the pay?
You know a video is good when the first second of your video has a typo.
Ridiculous was misspelled intentionally. [editline]27th December 2012[/editline]
How is the pay?
It depends on how long it would take for someone to complete a map and/or an animation sequence and on the quality of the work. To be honest I probably couldn't afford to hire someone with pixar quality animation skills. For someone with decent animation skills I would feel comfortable paying around $5 an hour. If you would prefer to be paid a flat rate then that is doable as well. I apologize if that payment is too low for some but as much as I would like to I can't afford a higher rate.
Why would you even consider taking on a project like this? I'm not trying to offend you, but you really need to start small and work your way up to something like this. You said yourself that you don't have much of an audience, so you'll probably end up wasting hours upon hours of your own time (and apparently money) making something that likely won't get enough views to make it worth it. Build up your skills and audience before attempting something this large.

I would be content with showing it to a handful of people. If others like it then it would be nice but not necessary. I've been working with sfm for awhile and while this would be my first real project that does not mean it has to be a short one. Any experience is going to be good experience. This is a story I've been excited to film for awhile, I would hate to put it on the backburner while I work on projects I'm not passionate about.
