• Need Help With Some Dust Particles

Hello everyone. Okay, so the thing is, I've been working on a project for the better part of this year (on and off) and I'm currently at a scene where the Sniper's camper roars down a dirt road — very hastily in fact. One would think that the tires would kick up dust to the point where a brown haze would lurk over the road. I've provided a screenshot below to show the scene. [t]http://i.imgur.com/DrocE3I.png?1[/t] As you can see, no dust is being kicked up. My failed attempts include something that looks like smoke from the tailpipe, but nothing more. Best case scenario is that one of you nice fellas create a particle definition file for me to use, but if you can't, that's fine. Maybe point me to some attributes or something that I can add to an existing particle in order to achieve the effect I'm looking for? Thanks in advance.

My goto dust particle is big_dust from Portal2's particle systems located in the Impact_fx.pcf category. It's pretty good but i typically do need to Instance it in the element viewer and tweak for whatever specific need i have (color, radius scale, amount of dust, etc). Now i also used it for the same thing you need it for... kick-up dust for vehicles... and for that i had to open it up in the Particle Editor tool and add an "emit_continuously" definition for it under the 'Emitters' section, then save as a separate particle. You can then lock the particle to the wheels of the truck or something and the emit-continuously will allow it to keep spitting out dust particles so long as you compensate for the animation rates and such within the particle to keep it from using all it's particles too quickly. hope that helps. mine in action: [t]http://i40.tinypic.com/34qusqv.png[/t]
Awesome! As soon as I get home I'm going to try it out. Thanks a ton, man. Edit: Oh my. Sir, it worked perfectly. It is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you very much!
