I remember those being a thing in Labpunch. Any plans on bringing that functionality over? Didn't see anything in the roadmap to indicate such.
Seemed to be relatively well received there, though to be honest I didn't spend a whole lot of time in any. Was it just a "let's test it out and see what happens" one-shot kind of deal?
uhh
i guess
it was a gr8 idea, my only issue with it was the flood of shit subforums/duplicates/accidental submissions making the whole thing a bit of a pain to browse. maybe if it was integrated with the coin system it could work better. there's already plans to crowd-fund new emoticons with coins, could maybe do the same with creating new subforums at the cost of a LOT of coins. That way you'd only get subforums that are definitely gonna be used and not have to deal with a flood of shit ones. Idk, could be kewl that way maybe?
crowdfund oify
To stop it looking like a complete mess you could put it on an entirely different webpage.
Or alternatively not make them visible to the public at all and only allow people with an invite to join, that could make for some pretty cool "private" sub-forums.
Allow users to create subforum for 100-200 coins.
A seperate webpage to list them all would be a must yea, but you could also list maybe the top 5 most used ones on the front page as well under their own category (Facepunch Custom Forums or some shit).
