I have this problem where my mic won't work in game... in fact it won't work on any steam games at all yet it works on anything other like; discord, skype, TS3, overwatch and other things I use to play games.
I have followed all the steps steam suggests and I've tried reinstalling my audio and microphone drivers but none of this had worked.
Headphones : 2 Jack (No USB) plugged into the back of my computer.
Try disabling any OTHER recording device in Windows
Let us know if you got this fixed. Make sure Steam is using you default device and make sure that device is your mic you wanna use. Other than that I cannot tell ya.
