So since the recent change on the workshop uploading thumbnails it's a nightmare, you have to throttled your upload speed or your computer in general to be able to access it.
So why not having an option on the skin on the same tab where you publish, making custom thumbnails helps creator get noticed more and also we can include our logos so people associates our work with an image.
This must be possible, because some workshop users already do. I suspect they upload via the steam workshop, and not the in-game workshop?
But, I agree; especially for highly specular objects, the auto-gen upload isn't ideal.
