Okay so i have played rust for awhile now and i have seen some of the big changes. I would like to complain about the new building system for a few reasons, Stacking doors + walls isn't a bad thing and did not effect raiding you only have to watch a channel like CM Gaming to understand that or any other YouTube rust player. Now not everyone stacked bases only your more advanced players and some groups.... Now YouTube/google is full of amazing looking bases and sometimes its the reason people join the game just because how cool the build system was. So really its a question id like to ask others who play rust did the old build system bother you? do you even care about a stacked base or even struggle to raid one?? i personally like a raid challenge a small 4*4 base isn't going to be a challenge no matter how hard you make the walls. The new system limits the creativity of your players and makes them have to play for hours at an end to support there base because of the new TC upkeep (players tax) say you are a solo player after you struggle to get blue prints + scrap you will then need to farm daily to keep your base if you have a job you can basically say bye bye to your base if you come home tired and don't have time to grind for a few hours. So why is creativity been crushed why try fix something that wasn't broken every server i have been on since the update has had a lower population than before the wipe and like my self have all moved to modded servers I understand the game must move forward and that's fine anyone like my self who loves the game will support it even if it feels like some of the changes are just to try suck in more customers = more money Just my 2p on the matter love to hear from others
you want my opinion, you get it :P I'm playing this game for over 4000 hours and this is the best update ever! Specialy after they made metal and armored stronger, you don't need wall-stacks anymore. As long server owners going to handle maximum group sizes, you won't get raided that fast, and you won't need to honeycomb that much or wallstack / doorstack. The only thing I disagree on is the upkeep cost, but that's also a thing why rust has made it so server owners can adjust these settings themselves to make upkeep how they desire it. Rust has many aspects, if someone comes from youtube base building, and buy the game because they will do the same, they will have a realy hard time, because rust is more than building only!
Fair comment and good to see opinions on the matter Build only servers, pve servers. 4000 hours you should know this!
I'm not talking about build or pve only servers lol. For example, I'm running a server thats under modded because of the max group limit. This is the only plugin I'm using om our #1 server, so it's like vanilla , but just cheaper upkeep costs (4 days instead of 24 hours) and controlled little groups to prevent zergs comming to play for 1 week and raiding everyone, and after that don't seeing them again.
I own my own server also a primitive one, but it doesn't matter people will still join build/pve servers after seeing build videos. Stacking walls inst a glitch or a exploit its simple creativity people say they are just making it more real well in reality you could build any number of walls next to each other
Stacking walls is no exploit?? xD You sir, just made my day! Do you realy think rust will remove the possibility if it was no exploit? haha And about reality: it's a game, if they where focussing on making it more realistic, irl you can never carry more than 1000 stones! In reality you can not see in the night when there is no lights arround you in a radius of 200km. In reality you have to watch how heavy things are, and in reality you eat 2-3 times a day. in reality a bear will not run away if you hit it with your hatchet or something. Rust is not real, it's a game. You can disagree with the things they do, but in the end they are the ones that decide where the game go's. There can be 100 guys that keeps complainging about it, but this is still the minor part!
how can placing two walls next to each other be an exploit lmao
My complaint is how half walls cost as much as full walls to build. I understand its probably there to prevent people from making "layered" roofs for cheap, but it really tickles my pickle when I find out how expensive it is!
