PHP server status idea

Hey guys. How would I go about making a PHP script that connects to my GMod server to check the status? I've seen it done here: [url]http://lobrc.net/000status.php[/url] for web hosting servers, so how could I do it for GMod? I've got a basic knowledge of PHP, and a little LUA. Could you guys give me an idea or some script to start this off? It'd be a cool thing to do, so anybody could check if the server is up.

I've wrote a script for this and it is in use on [url]http://www.bsrp.cc[/url]. I utilized the gameq library and from there it is pretty easy :).
