• Making a border with CSS
    14 replies, posted
I have managed to make a border using CSS, its made of 9 divs, 3 top, 3 middle, 3 bottom, in a 3 x 3 grid. The thing is it only works if I manually type in the height of the page, which I dont want to do, as I would rather have it be generated on the fly to the height of the page. I have the WIP site hosted at www.harrisonslater.tk (the page is jibtek-jimmyjib-home.html), the host I am using is a free one, so it only loads half the page for some reason, including only rendering half the border. Can still see the source of the page though, was wondering if someone could enlighten me as to how to make the border generate its height automatically? I tried using the values auto and 100% but it doesnt work.
Is this a real company?
Is this a real company?
Yes, my dads :)
Don't give every single image a title tag, it gets incredibly annoying. Especially on the navs.
rename jibtek-jimmyjib-home.html to index.html, it will be the default page, it will automaticaly load up once you go onto your website.

Cool, I like your rollovers by the way.
Cool, I like your rollovers by the way.
Going to change them again I think, I guess I can call this my first properly made website, so still getting to grips with things, trying to make things easy to use yet look nice and hopefully be compliant and work across all browsers. The first website I made was this site www.jibtek.co.uk. Might I add though this was with about 3 hours HTMl experience (my dad assumed I knew everything at this point) so I went ahead and made one using my bare knowledge and jury rigged a lot of it, note lack of css :D.
Your first website turned out a hell of a lot better than mine, it hurts to think about the abomination I created.

My first "website" was made in powerpoint, I had no idea what the fuck CSS was.
Microsoft Front Page, Back then I didnt realise you could "code" a webpage instead of dragging and dropping elements.
Aw yeah, Front Page and TABLES. TABLES EVERYWHERE :byodood:
