Need Help with Writing a program. (Minecraft and Visual Basic)
3 replies, posted
So. Im not really all that good at anything. Visual basic is an easy way for me to make stuff. Whatever. So I am making a Modpack for me and a couple of friends, and I was wondering how people made Technic launcher and Feed the beast launchers... And I was also wondering if this could be created in visual basic? So I could create one.
What I want:
~When I click the Install Button, It will install the content of the pack. To a directory also. Like it would install a folder on the desktop named EX: MinecraftModPack
~Then when you click the launch button, it will launch a certain version of minecraft... and load up the mods to play.
(What I mean is, Thanks to the new launcher after 1.5.2, you cant start it up with a .bat like you could 1.5.2 and earlier) But if there is a way to start it up with a .bat you can tell me that too!
Now im not looking to pay so, I expect no help or to be called stupid but.. If you could help explain then thanks...

Yet you are asking such simple questions?

As for the second one a quick Google search(use it) found this.

Find a way to convert that process in to your program.
No one is going to explain the whole process to you, if you need help ask questions but you should be able to figure most of it out on your own, if you can't then you aren't ready for something like this and should start with some simpler projects.
There is also a thread in the programming section for asking questions, now that you have your own thread just keep posting here.
If in the future you have unrelated questions use that thread.
So. Another question.. For Minecraft to start up, it needs you to authenticated.. So to do that, im going to have to know Java code huh? Or Is it going to be something in depth for VB?
You'll have a better time asking in the minecraft official forums.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
