I am going to need cheap host with free domain where I can use Joomla. Preferably where you can pay for 3 months or so. Thanks
[url]www.lithiumhosting.com[/url] High quality and extremely cheap.
[url]www.namecheap.com[/url] Not free but imo one of the best registrars around (Average prices as well)
there is also [url]http://name.com[/url]
FREEWHOIS
gives you free whois protection for 1 year.
thanks, will check them out

Great service; great people. Great prices, too. Have been with them for a couple of years, I really would recommend it.

unlim everything, one domain comes with purchase.

No way. Do not follow this shocking advice.

Or you could just fill false info in for that slot.
[url]http://hover.com/[/url]
Free everything you'd need for a domain (whois protection, etc.) for $15/yr.
(use promo code twig)
[QUOTE=zzaacckk;34155670]Or you could just fill false info in for that slot.[/QUOTE]
Yeah, but that's illegal, and if someone decides they want to take your website down (For DMCA etc.), you're screwed.
[QUOTE=zzaacckk;34155670]Or you could just fill false info in for that slot.[/QUOTE]
nope. I tried it and within 3 days they sent me an email to change it or they will take it down.
I use [url]http://www.lithiumhosting.com[/url] for hosting and [url]http://www.name.com[/url] for my domain. I vote for name.com because they give you free WHOIS protection when you use the code:
WHOIS
NameCheap gives you free WHOIS protection without a code.

its only for 1 year too.
Register your domain name with namecheap then use that domain with hostgator
7 bucks a month for hostgator and u get unlimited everything except multiple domain names.... atleast on hatchling... but 24 fucking 7 support on live chat
Don't fall for these stupid "unlimited everything" sites. They're decent for small blogs or websites that you expect a few views a day from but they have many catches. The most common are:
- CPU limit (You're on a shared host machine, and if your CPU usage exceeds a set threshold then your account will be deactivated for so long.
- Bandwidth really isn't unlimited (if you seem to use a high amount in a few days, they will suspend your account)
- Unlimited space is only for relative/visible/usable things (you can't use it for anything not related to the site. So for example having a directory with images which aren't visible on the site itself is usually met with file deletion).
Does Lithium Hosting practice things like these?

nothing is "unlimited"
[QUOTE=zzlawlzz;34311980]nothing is "unlimited"[/QUOTE]
My LoveFilm subscription allows me to watch unlimited amounts of films without a fair usage policy, but what I think your getting at is that no web host offers unlimited without a catch of some sort such as files having to be relevant to the site or a fair usage policy.
Edit: How is that dumb? You said nothing is unlimited and I proved you wrong
stablehost.com has been pretty good so far.
Hostgator is absolutely terrible. Their (live) support is absolutely horrible; it felt to me like one person who studies some lines by heart was posing as multiple people. The e-mail support was a small bit better, but hardly of any help either.
Going for these popular "unlimited"-services isn't something I'd suggest either. They will, very likely, be overselling (selling more than they can offer). To be honest; they'll very likely drop you after a couple of months with a silly excuse. A classmate of mine paid for 3 months, got kicked after one month because he "sent to much mails from his account". When asked if they could tell him what script the mails were sent from, they couldn't answer. When asked who they were sent to, what headers were included; they couldn't answer. Was clear enough to me that they were just pulling stuff out of their arse.
The sad thing here is my friend was just booted from hostgator for the exact same thing. Do NOT use them if you want a good long-term host.
I'm using Lithium and am quite happy with it.

[URL="http://gandi.net/"]Gandi[/URL] gives you free whois and a 1 year ssl cert but is slightly more expensive per year, but overall costs less than buying whois and a ssl cert for the domain so it's kinda win/loose depending how you look at it.
Personally I use [url=http://name.com/]name.com[/url] because I was with them before they removed the automatic free whois over all years and just not bothered to move anywhere else, plus they are ok priced on domains.
I just switched to lithium from hostgator..... i would think it is more feature packed, but slower

Xenon servers does absolutely everything, video/file uploading and downloading, smf forums, and that sort for 5 a month. With a custom ending, ex : [url]www.bluballs.necromancer[/url]. or. [url]Www.numanuma.fatguy[/url]. or [url]www.nummytime,,zsetdg,,zfg.goop.nomnom.judge.com[/url]. yes, they r that customizable.

They sold my domain without it expiring refusing to give it back or refund me with 5 years left.

Big vouch for namecheap... I have over 100 domains with them and never had a single issue.
