I'm working on starting a web proxy on my site that my mates and I can use as a means of anonymous browsing. (In before do your work at school etc.) I've done a bit of research and found that there are a lot of PHP scripts out there which allow what I'm looking for. http://best-php-scripts.com/proxy_scripts.htm The problem is; is that there are a lot of PHP scripts allowing this out there. I've had a look at the popular PHP Web Proxy script but it has a lot of unfavourable reviews. I also may need help installing the script. My question is this: What PHP script would people recommend for this task?
glype. And you can remove all the glype copyright bullshit too by simply entering a 10 (or whatever it is) letter code of any letters and it accepts the 'license' to remove the copyright stuff. Clever devs didn't bother checking the licenses.
What proxy software does your school use by the way?
What proxy software does your school use by the way?
College uses an educational ISP which does the filtering and a second programme on top. It's not for college though. It's for anonymous browsing. And, I'll go and d/l Glype now.
PHProxy. Haven't used it in a long time, but I remember it being pretty easy and feature-full. [editline]12:30PM[/editline] it's not being developed anymore though :(

If you need help installing it, I would suggest that operating your own web proxy may not be suitable for you. Just use tor, an existing HTTP proxy or one of the bazillion other web proxies out there.
Nope, it's all cool. Glype is now installed on my server. The reason why I want a proxy server I have control over is because I want something I can trust.
The reason why I want a proxy server I have control over is because I want something I can trust.
Actually, that's a very good point. I saw this thread on 711chan once where this guy linked to his proxy and told everyone to tell people about it because it was setup to save POST vars.

It's definitely something I want to do in the future. My proxy is set up and it just needs a bit of modification. If any of you need the URL ever just PM me.
