• On what basis do you set the price of a website?

Hi guys! I've already sold a bunch of websites, for requests but i've never known how much money should i ask for them. Usually i sold them for 10€, but i don't really know how much are they worth. This website was made for a garry's mod community. In a nutshell: the user just pay via paypal, and after that he/she gets VIP rank on the server automatically. Also the user can only buy golden vip if he/she has normal vip. I sold it for 15€, but i would like to know how much does it worth ?

Also for the same community i made a playerlister.

I know the design is not the best, but it's insignificant for these websites(because the players only see them ingame in a little windows (the costumer said that)). So my question is what are the aspects? What determines the price? Thank you. ToNi
I'd be charging at least £100 for something like that but I'm pretty bored of just making things for people after years of it. You can charge a lot more if people are going to be making money off the site too, which clearly your example is.
Your experience (and how it applies to the project), the project's specification and complexity (build me a static page vs build me a large profitable web application), the client (big company? non-profit charity? mom and pop store?), and project/personal constraints (time, special agreements and requirements, etc - i.e: I'd charge more if I had to sign an NDA, or as a collateral for future "free" support). A website can go for as little as a couple hundred bucks, to a few million, it all rests primarily on these points.
And what about that thing that i read in many comments that $x per line ? Or $x per hours ? Are they fair ? Anyway thanks for the comments so far.

I can't really give you a good average, but it can easily go from about 10/hour to, again, over a hundred dollars per hour. From a starting, but already very capable developer, I'd expect around $30/$50 per hour for a mature project.
Thank you very much.
Depending on how much backend they both contain, and how much of it is yours (relating to the player lister, there seem to be quite a few libraries just to parse steam stuff nowadays) Of course you also have to consider yyur clients here, they are most likely rich kiddies, which means they can probably afford a vBulletin license (150 €), so you don't have to put yourself anywhere near that spare change of 10 quids, however you wouldn't be able to charge them for a full blown CMS. At the same time, these clients probably won't be able to afford to pay you per hour if it get's any longer than a few, so you have to consider if you want to continue working on a way under-payed market just for training purposes, or if you want to venture out and find clients with more cash to spare.
