I'm itching to make my own website but I just don't know how.
http://www.apachefriends.org/download.php?xampp-win32-1.7.3.exe
It will install everything you need. Start the server with the xampp control panel, start mysql.
Go download phped (I recommend) or notepad++ and look at some tutorials. You can add me on steam and maybe I can help you learn some basics.
(If you use PhpED, you won't need to install xampp, it has it's own built-in server)
www.w3schools.com/
And use notepad ++ for the coding.
Get a good host and a domain name
I would use
www.justhost.com
and
w3schools.com for learning the coding.
justhost is shit
You need...
- Time
- Brains :downs:
- A web browser
- Notepad (Or some IDE)
-- IDEs:
--- Dreamweaver (Like $400-600?)
--- Eclipse (Free)
--- Notepad++ (Free)
--- Find these by googleing the name
- A Masters Degree in CS :science:
If you have the above, you can go to http://www.w3schools.com/ and learn HTML and CSS there.
And then go make a website. If you want, learn PHP to do serverside stuff (like a blog or a message board). Remember to take into account that PHP is pretty hard for people new to development in general.
And if you want to host, HostMonster is great!
But if you have no money, use http://www.000webhost.com/. They are amazing for free hosting.
* IDE: An Integrated Development Environment
** Wikipedia Definition: An integrated development environment (IDE) also known as integrated design environment or integrated debugging environment is a software application that provides comprehensive facilities to computer programmers for software development

Well stated sir. :golfclap:
If you just want some cheap hosting to start off, limedomains works well.
Highly recommend starting with html/css. Learn and master these and then move on to making your pages more dynamic.

This doesn't answer the question particularly well, or prove anything.
I use them, they're great for me.

Exactly, I've been with them for a year with basic webhosting plan and love the 24/7 support.
