• Help me with my Computer Science Java homework

Alright, I fucked up this semester and just durdled around in my CS class so now I have no idea what the fuck I am doing. I'd like to at least manage a tangentially passing grade and just take the course over next year in college and to do that I need to actually turn in some homework. For all you Java whiz kids out there, help a newbie out, I'd really appreciate it. This week's homework is question 1 from this packet. Basic pointers on what exactly I'm supposed to do would be the best, but I wouldn't care if someone straight up posts the answer.
but I wouldn't care if someone straight up posts the answer.
Ha. No. If you have a simple question, you can ask it in WDYNHW, but we aren't going to do your homework for you.
wow rude
wow rude
If I may speak for this forum, we hold high standards and expect everyone to pull their own weight. As he said, we're happy to give you help, but we're not doing your homework for you (just helping you figure it out yourself).

Basic tips are greatly appreciated, I'm totally down for actually figuring it out after some guiding. I just added that clause at the end because I wasn't familiar with how this place works. Sorry if that offended anyone.

What you linked is the entire FRQ portion of the 2009 Exam (which I took, btw). If you can come up with some specific things you need help with I along with the rest of the community will try our best to help you.
Let me preclude this by saying that my knowledge of programming in Java is incredibly spotty. Well basically I know I have to figure out how to find where a run happens. I'd guess that it would involve some sort of nested for loop? And then I'm completely stumped as to how you would even store the information that states where runs occur. ...And I'm guessing that's the hugest obstacle at the moment. Part a seems to simply be something for the psvm and although I don't currently recall how to input that, I'm sure I have reference material on that back at school.
In his defense, he ninja-replied before I made that last edit, so it only read "Ha. No." without the last line.
Edited: Fuck me I can't use spoiler tags. Looking at that test, though, all I can say is damn! A four question test that counts for 50% of your grade? Jesus
That first question seems pretty easy, but I haven't looked at any of the others. Add me on Steam (account name geel9) and I'll help you out; I will NOT do your homework for you.
Hey, this is the AP Computer Science exam I took! I got a 5 on it :v:
Wow, this is n00b shit right here. Did you like, not attend class at all?
Wow, this is n00b shit right here. Did you like, not attend class at all?
That's basically what happened yes.
That's basically what happened yes.
If CS is not your thing, then just don't bother.
*snip*
I already finished it long time ago.
I already finished it long time ago.
Worst... Poster... Ever...
The amount of passive negativity in this subforum is appalling.
Your expectation for people to do your homework for you is appalling.
I fucked up this semester and just durdled around in my CS class so now I have no idea what the fuck I am doing.
If you had actually shown some effort on your part, people would've been more helpful.
The fact that you didn't read five posts into the thread where it was resolved is appalling.
You mean until the next assignment?
I plan on receiving more help if that is what you are implying, yes.
KStyleAzure you obviously suffer from social issues; as every post you generate adds to an amounting mass of negativity towards you. Stop posting, get out of your chair, and unplug your computers power cord.
I don't see the reasoning why getting help on this is perceived as such a horrid and stigmatic action that you have to continuously attack me on this. Seriously, that's pretty harsh man. [editline]2nd March 2012[/editline] Like I won't say I did anything exemplary by durdling around in class in the first place, but from where I stand, asking someone to help would be the best course of actions to help me back up, right?
1. You admit your did not put in any effort to your class and you expect people to sympathie with you. 2. You have a blatant disregard for plagiarism and expect the internet to auto-magically fix your fuck ups. 3. When confronted you called a poster rude. 4. You did not post that you figured out the problem. I like programming random assignments and decided that I would try to help you understand programming; a subject to which I am very passionate about. 5. You continue to post in the thread with out any gratitude for help or constructive criticism on your schooling ethic. 6. You act oblivious to why anyone would see you as an immature, ungrateful person who spends all his free time posting on internet forums. SUPER PRO 1337 ULTRA COMBO TIP: When you ask for help on the internet, at least act like you care about putting effort into the problem you're attempting. Us programmers don't accept the emotional card very often when attempting to be influenced.
