How do I make the effect where there's a small part that's on top of the other page and the rest is faded black and it's semi-see through. It's hard to explain, the only example I could think of is from the metrolyrics popups:

What you're looking for is a full-page overlay. You might want to google 'html full page overlay' or simply 'html overlay'. Try this tutorial:

Modal box, lightbox, etc is what this is called. There's a tonne out there, some which support images some which support every kind of media/iframes/ajax pages etc.
