I'm trying to set up a mysql database for my friends sourcebans server but the page seems to not let me excute.
I tick this:

and then when my friend executes it, it doesn't let him execute it. It simply gives him this
Unknown MySQL server host 'jack-attack.net ' (1)
SQL Query type: CONNECT
Script: '/orangebox/Sourcebans/install/index.php'
SQL Query: jack-attack.net
SQL Params: jackatta_sqlsb
So I go back to see what's wrong and I find this unticked.

How can I fix this?
You have a space after the hostname
Can't connect to MySQL server on 'www.jack-attack.net' (4)
SQL Query type: CONNECT
Script: '/orangebox/Sourcebans/install/index.php'
SQL Query: www.jack-attack.net
SQL Params: jackatta_sqlsb

Does nothing
Try 'localhost'
Ask your host what to set as the host for the MySQL server.

I am the host
I think
Is the gameserver hosted on the same box as the webserver?
No
Then it'll be localhost.

Disregard that.
If you're connecting from another server, have you added that server's IP to the "Allowed hosts" in your cPanel?
I am the host
I think
Who are you paying to host the website and what kind of service is it?

Whiz, sourcebans and cpanel are different panels...
Whiz, sourcebans and cpanel are different panels...
I'm talking about LinuX is installing the sourcebans web interface
If you're connecting from another server, have you added that server's IP to the "Allowed hosts" in your cPanel?
How do I do that
How do I do that
But hold on before you do that, where are you installing the sourcebans web interface and where is the MySQL server being hosted
[editline]15th January 2011[/editline]
Are they from the same place?
The my SQL server is on Xenonservers, and the sourcebans interface is on http://3quarteraiming.com/
I'm talking about A member that is permabanned right after he got GM is installing the sourcebans web interface
He is, not me.
Add 216.22.26.29 to allowed hosts.
I'm helping via steam now.
It's "Remote MySQL" under the "Databases" category.
Add 216.22.26.29 to allowed hosts.
The SQL database is open for access from anyone. Tried a connection from my PC to jack-attack.net using HeidiSQL, and I hit MySQL (although I had no authorization).
We opened it for anyone, but the second host was blocking from accessing MySQL so now we're setting up on the same server
We did it
