"Welcome to The Horizon Project. We are a dedicated group of software developers intent on answering the question "What does software look like after The Cloud?" Our goal is to to create an internet centric software platform that uses both the server and the client to their maximum potential. The Horizon Project is a software development framework with a design inspired by the .NET Framework and built on the C++0x Final standards. The Horizon Project will be a radical departure from traditional C++ libraries and will function as a complete reimagination of how we think about native software development. The goal of the Horizon Project is to allow developers to easily port their applications from one platform to another by creating a uniform API that abstracts away the underlying operating system. This allows developers to focus on developing their software while avoiding the painful implementation details of C++ and retaining the performance of native code. We are currently in the early stages of building the community and planning what capabilities the Horizon Platform will have. We are also working on developing the basic structure of the framework in preparation for the commencement of primary system development." Wrong forum?
I suggest not starting any projects when your website uses tables for design.

What the hell is this?
The Horizon Project is truly massive in scope and can be compared to projects like Linux, Windows, and other large software projects.

Secure HTTP Replacement (Unified Network Access Protocol)
<- and this is expected to be adopted???!?

At least in things like this. But, hey. You will always have overly optimistic people - even if it's not realistic.
lmao is this some sort of joke

http://dev.thehorizonproject.org/ I know what that is... IIS7 is the default web host service installed on all windows computers. Are you really running this from a webhost software designed to share websites on a LAN network?

He could be running a windows server OS. IIS is also made for internet hosting, not just LAN.
Saying that you aim to replace HTTP is like thinking you could find a replacement for electricity. Plus, to me it looks like you're trying to reinvent 40+ years worth of wheels. [editline]25th July 2012[/editline] If you want to innovate build a platform yes, but not from such a low level.
It is not like http does not have its drawbacks, look at google "reinventing the wheel" with SPDY. Though this does not stop this being any less amusing as google have platforms to ensure adoption (chrome and android).
