I've just bought this book today. I'm really looking forward to getting stuck into it and finally learning how to use Python. I was just wondering if anyone has used this book and has some advice/thoughts on it.
Nope. I used Codecademy (Which I would recommend) to learn Python If you're willing to spend some money check out http://www.codeschool.com/
Python is for fool and lazy people.
I learned C++ using some video tutorials, then trial and error for a few years along with Google.
I'm just waiting for a permaban on terike. My suggestion is that when you start working on learning, don't stop working. Try not to lose motivation or get disheartened. Crack through it, and once you start getting some results you like, your progress will increase. Good luck!
I'm just waiting for a permaban on terike.
Your opinion on Python is not the only opinion on Python in the world. Just deal with it.
Everybody is allowed to have an opinion that is different from yours.
That's true, but he posted his opinion without any reasons why he thinks that. It is obvious he is just shitposting.
That's true, but he posted his opinion without any reasons why he thinks that. It is obvious he is just shitposting.
But this is not a reason for permaban. And there's some truth in his opinion. Only lazy people don't want to release memory by themselves. Well, that's just my opinion.

Well, that's just my opinion.
Isn't that a bit like saying only lazy people buy their food from stores? Well sure, in some cases manual memory management can be better, like when you have some serious performance constraints, but you can not just say people who do not want to do it are lazy.
I like the way this thread turned out.
It shouldn't matter what my opinion is on any language. I wasn't saying he should be banned for his opinion on Python, he should be banned cause he's just posting shit everytime. Nothing constructive, backed up or explained. It doesn't matter what someone else's opinion is on a language. If you want to code assembly by manually inputting strings of binary. Be my guest. Everyone has a bias, but that doesn't mean you should listen to them.
