Hey, so I don't think this is coding in a way. But in a way is web development. Anyways I run a website on Invision Power Board (http://hvgaming.jjservers.com) if you need to take a look and I was wondering if there would be anyway to connect the website members with the members on the server. Such as "HVG RYKER would be recognized with the same name on the server by Steam ID" and if they donated then the system would automatically give them the perks of being a VIP. Considering this website is website for GMOD I would like to know if this is possible. Or if a plugin can be developed for it at all.
It's possible. And it's been done before. Many years before too.
Not sure about how it works in IPB though.
You could use http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/5393-sign-in-through-steam/ for sign in.

Not really related.
But yeah, what he needs to do is implement a GMOD addon that reads the IPB database - gives you login etc.
He also needs to change the IPB db so it has included the steamID etc.

Its at least good to know its possible. I've installed the steam plugin onto my boards, I'm just still figuring out how to combine those databases considering they sit on two different servers.

The steam plugin is only for making accounts via a steam login instead of a normal login

Right, I know that. Thanks for your help though. I'll need to find some coding help if possible.
