The one problem that I have with programming (including games) is coming up with ideas and projects that are within or just out of my reach that I can work towards. I'm not very much on the creative side, so I have some problem coming up with ideas for projects. What do you guys do to help you get ideas?
I think of ordinary things that people use and try to recreate it. For instance I'm working on a library program, mostly because I want to get more familiar with sql databases and how to use them alongside java.
Look out for what people keep complaining about in common software and try creating a better version. Might be a start.
