Just wondering where people lean stuff. I lean HTML from http://www.codecademy.com/ (Also going to lean Javascrip and PHP there)
What about you?
Several books from the library.
You want to look for the codes labeled low-carb. Those are the best to lean up.
I heard that PHP can really be bloating.
Google, although when I was a wee kid I was inspired and started from the new boston videos, they are only helpful to a certain extent.
Looked at source code
[sp]websites were a bit easier to understand back then[/sp]

I can confirm this. This is how i self taught html & css.
I was interested in php because that's what everyone used when making maplestory private server websites :v:

Same for me. But for WoW private servers.
That eventually lead to me getting GM on every server I found since I built them a shitty-ass-website.
learned from code academy and the new boston tutorials.
I learned the scripting language for the neverwinter nights editor. The first thing I ever made was a chest you could put gold in to and take gold out of so you didn't lose it when you died.
Then I wanted to make a website to share the stuff I was making, so I found random HTML tutorial websites and got more interested in web dev and just sort of kept going with it.
Gmod, I think. Using wiremod's E2, made a car go forward, then I made a door lock, then I made an "operating system", then I made a web-server.

What's wrong with your keyboard?
Tables from forums, everything else on my own (mostly from source code, friends, and Google).
My only C++ knowledge is from a ~2004 textbook.
Mostly Codecademy for me, a little from other sources (such as mozilla)

Anyone know any good sites for C++?
Was taught pascal/C at school.
I teach myself every new language I learn.
First started with VB.NET, then did some Java for Minecraft, C# and now doing C++ for a mod.

All of them self-taught, oh and some copy-pasta, but the good way, where I actually try to understand what i'm pasting and modifying a bit.
I learned how to write proper, efficient HTML and CSS syntax by reading official documentation, looking at source code of various popular websites and working on my own personal projects.
It goes the same way for web oriented scripting languages like PHP. You can learn anything if you have passion for it. Gentlemen, in this type of field, we set ourselves in a way that we are going to learn new stuff for the rest of our lives.
Learnt Lua, PHP and MySQL all working on WoW private servers, HTML and CSS i learnt from just experimenting copy and pasting stuff from tutorials when i was a kid
People learning from private servers is surprisingly common.
