Alright, so here's the deal. Some of you know I do the whole web dev thing for a living (I'm the fulltime web dev/design guy for favery.com right now). I also have some side projects I am working on that I have potential, but that need more time invested in them (spoonfedstyle.com and daily750.com are the two side projects that are live right now). I work on them in my spare time, but I am a busy guy and I don't end up being able to invest all the time that I want to invest in some of these projects, so I have an idea.
I'm looking for someone with a little rails/ruby/html/js experience that wants to get involved in working with me on a semi-regular basis. One of the things I'm looking for is that you really want to learn. About everything involved in projects like this, not just the programming side, but the business/design/ux side too, because I want to trade your time and work for my knowledge and experience.
I will be working on things with you, and I will be code reviewing everything you write to make sure it's up to snuff and to help you become a better dev. I also want to be really transparent with you about directions I am taking the project(s) and what data I'm basing my decisions on so you can learn how that process works a little as well.
I'm still not 100% sure how this will all work but wanted to see if it was something any of you were interested in this before i try to hash it out too much. I fully intend on providing some level of monetary compensation as soon as any of these side projects get enough love to become profitable as well, but we will discuss that on an individual basis.
Thanks!
Alex
You should emphasize on the word "little" otherwise you get anyone who can make a hello world page.
Maybe "some" is a better word than "little". I definitely want someone who knows what they are doing fairly well, but also need someone who won't feel like they're not getting enough in return for the time they put in without monetary compensation at first.
This sounds like a great opportunity for anyone interested in webdev! I would be interested by such a 'apprenticeship' since I try to get to know as much as possible about the field. ( I plan to work for the foreseeable future in WebDev. )
My questions would be how you would plan to organize this? There are Timezones, School ( for those still studying ) How would communication happen?
If I had a "little" ruby and rails experience and if I was sure I would still have time for it after a few months I would most certainly be interested. Unfortunately I have 0 ruby experience and I have no idea what kind of bullshit my university is going to pull next quarter.

That's still up in the air but it'll likely happen through github for the most part since that's where I'm going to be doing code reviews and because the issue tracker is decent.
I am actually very interested in this. I really love to learn and it would be great if someone can lead me through the process of things. :] I currently know a few things but there is always something to learn! So if you are still interested in doing this I believe I'm your man :] PM me and I will give you my personal details ^_^

Made this site for Spike, I created the giveaway section and everything you really see there. (Spike choose'd the layout)
If I had more time I would love to jump in on this, I am not exactly an inexperienced web developer, but I would love to get to grips with ruby and get into your design process, because you make some beautiful looking sites. If only I had more time!
You should probably put up some examples of projects you've worked on before, with source code. Basically give a reason for people to choose you rather than the hundreds of thousands of other developers and open source projects out there.
Edited my post above to show what I worked on.

Not sure if you did that because of me, but I meant KmartSqrl.
I've done a lot of online courses with JS and would love this opportunity, if its still available. I do little bits of css and html too, but not much. If you want to, pm me
Shit, I'd love to do this if only I had the time.
If you're still looking for someone in a couple of months, let me know. Once I've finished up all of my College work during the summer break I'm planning on extending my web development skills. It would be nice to learn from someone firsthand.
