• Hiring for website and logo design
    11 replies, posted
My personal portfolio website (for game development projects) has been in need of a redesign for quite a while now. I began working on it almost half a year back, building upon the CodeIgniter framework, but I came upon a problem: my artistic skills sucks and I have great difficulty creating a professional design. I've decided I want to hire someone to make a website design for me (several pages (front, projects, about, contact), the logo and background (which I plan to be more than a simple repeating pattern)). Should be good for several days of work (?). The scripting I leave to myself. I have a general idea about how I want it to look, but there'll be plenty of room for creativity. The deliverables I expect to be in the format of several photoshop files with the complete visual design of the website. As for payment, I see 75 euros as a starting point, but this is negotiable. Payment via Paypal, or direct via bank transfer if you live in the Netherlands. If you're interested, please provide as many examples of your work as you can. Feel free to ask questions if I still need to clarify something, this is my first time hiring someone to do stuff for me. Now I don't expect this place to be loaded with professional-grade designers, but it can't hurt to try right?
75 euros as a starting point...

professional-grade designers
Uhh...
The deliverables I expect to be in the format of several photoshop files with the complete visual design of the website.
What do you mean by this? You don't want it coded, just .psd file of a design?
What do you mean by this? You don't want it coded, just .psd file of a design?
Yes. Just a design. That last statement in my first post was a futile attempt at preventing non-serious replies, but alas.
People wont be happy with that price!

That last statement in my first post was a futile attempt at preventing non-serious replies, but alas.
I hate to break it to you but you won't get a professional designer to make this for $97. I mean lets be realistic a simple logo at a professional designer is anywhere from $50-$1,000 depending on who you go with. A full website design is going to be much more. A full design ( a good one / professional design ) takes time. You can't just toss a piece of crap out the doorway - you'd be looking at at least two rough drafts and probably 5-10 hours worth of time making the final draft. IDK about you but $97 is equal to less then a week of food and renting/buying a house is expensive plus car payments plus medical etc. Most professional designers make their living off what they do and it can take more then two weeks for the next job - or longer. Considering you want 4+ pages, a logo AND a background I think you should raise your budget to the four figure area. You might find someone desperate enough to do it for $500 but I think you're looking at more around the $1000-$1500 area.
Damnit, I wasn't asking for a professional designer. If I was I wouldn't be posting here. I'm just looking at someone better at photoshopping a website than I am. Luckily someone already responded, and I like his work, so I'm going to work with him. I tried to make my post clear and to the point, unlike the silly ones the occasional 12-year-old posts. But it seems Facepunch will ridicule you regardless of what you ask.

Didn't mean it to be condescending, seems it got lost in translation. Well whatever, my search is at an end.
