I can't decide what major to get, because I'm not sure whether I want to be a programmer, sysadmin,

I know I want to work with computers in my future, but I really can't decide between programming, sysadmin, or network engineer because I've never had experience with any of them. I'm planning on majoring in CS, but I hear the degree is pretty useless when it comes to being a sysadmin/network engineer. If I major in Computer Information Systems, it's pretty useless the other way around.
My original plan was to major in CS and get some certs so I'd be qualified for both programming and being a sysadmin, but I'm just not sure. I'm not sure if any of you would know, but any insight would be very helpful. I could see myself in both jobs, but I really don't know which I'd like more. I just don't want to waste time and resources.
Edit: I apologize; I know this section deals with programming but I guess this is semi-programming related.
This question assumes one is better than the other or vice versa, but really it depends on what you find the most interesting or what you prefer the most.

I honestly feel all interest me greatly, but I feel programming would be the most interesting. However in the workforce I'd only be coding financial software and such, but it would give me the knowledge I need for other side projects. I've always wanted to sell my own self-created software or create some business or something.
You can easily demonstrate your knowledge of the others by getting certs, though you could also demonstrate your programming skills with a portfolio.
Since programming is useful in all of those fields, I say go with programming.
The job of a sysadmin also involves programming. If you go the route of programming and want to be a sysadmin, you can get your A+ and CCNA and be fairly well off. Then if you want you can continue up the chain and get more certs you can.
This is your career man, you really need to find something you'll enjoy. Also what Gnomical said, you can kinda cross the skills/major over so try to keep your options as open as possible
I do a fair bit of SysAdmining and it can become quite repetitive but it's enjoyable. That said I've been doing programming on the side and that is quite fun.

I feel the same way, which is why i decided to do a BA computer science, with a concentration in business/finance
at my school when you do the BA CS degree, the difference lies in the amount of science/physics you need(BA requires less).. I hate that stuff and suck at it, so this major is perfect for me.

It sounds like you're more interested in programming, so you should do that.
Do electric engineering (solid state electronics for example) if you want wide array of useful skills.

That's hardly related to the options he gave.
