Hello programmers/developers/hackers!
I am just curious about your personality types, and here is link. Don't do this, if you don't have 10 minutes or so to waste.

From last email:
Your personality type: “The Debater” (ENTP-T)
Strength of individual traits: Extraverted: 47%, Intuitive: 74%, Thinking: 12%, Prospecting: 50%, Turbulent: 68%.
Role: Analyst
Strategy: Social Engagement
I can do pool but it's pointless since I can't enter 16 options.

TYPE IS:
DEBATER (ENTP-A)
Although I could argue how it's not that accurate.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/YgTrOjM.png[/t]
I get stressed easily, but I sort of like stress.
INTJ
Anybody that reads a synopsis of INTJ is basically reading a manual to the way I operate. First time I took this type of test was around three years I ago and I still can't believe how accurate the descriptions are.
I as well got the INTJ PERSONALITY (“THE ARCHITECT”)
Their description as follows..
It’s lonely at the top, and being one of the rarest and most strategically capable personality types, INTJs know this all too well. INTJs form just two percent of the population, and women of this personality type are especially rare, forming just 0.8% of the population – it is often a challenge for them to find like-minded individuals who are able to keep up with their relentless intellectualism and chess-like maneuvering. People with the INTJ personality type are imaginative yet decisive, ambitious yet private, amazingly curious, but they do not squander their energy.

normally i dismiss these quizzes/tests but if fourier posted this, what can go wrong?
people with the INTP personality type tend to share thoughts that are not fully developed, using others as a sounding board for ideas and theories in a debate against themselves rather than as actual conversation partners.
i was predisposed to take a laugh and close the tab, but the second paragraph in and i have to say, their description is unfortunately accurate
for this reason my friends now no longer talk to me
i always thought i was an asshole but apparently i can say that im just a thinker
[editline]20th August 2015[/editline]
totally expected that premium profile thing at the end tho lmao
[editline]20th August 2015[/editline]
overall the descriptions seem unfortunately accurate though
[editline]20th August 2015[/editline]
It is more likely that INTP personalities will leave a trail of breadcrumbs for a potential partner, allowing them to make the first move and committing to their partner as an act of reciprocation rather than bravado.
haha fuck holy shit this is literally me
dont be me
[editline]20th August 2015[/editline]
INTP personalities know that as they practice, they improve, and any work they do is second-best to what they could do. Unable to settle for this, INTPs sometimes delay their output indefinitely with constant revisions, sometimes even quitting before they ever begin.
hello welcome to every programming project of mine ever

These read a bit like horoscopes
What does it say about my personality if I couldn't be bothered to complete the test because it was too long?
What does it say about my personality if I couldn't be bothered to complete the test because it was too long?
lazy fuck that won't take 10 minutes out of his life to learn something about himself
:ok:
I did test 3 times in span of 2 years and was always the same (ENTP), that is why I didn't do it this time. It is also fairly accurate description of me.

haha true, at least you can expect the test to be "atleast-somewhat-accurate" if it takes time. I mean, you can't expect 5 questions will pull something out meaningful.

Yeah, it might be a bit far fetched, since every type is "very good and excellent". Still for me it is fairly accurate.

Yep sounds right to me.
These seem a bit like self-fulfilling prophecies, but nonetheless: :v:

(taken these types of tests a few times over a couple of years, always got the same results, so at least it's consistent, and it seems to be fairly accurate)

Fits me quite well... I think, however I don't see why I can't be observant and Intuitive as well...
Funny how INTJ is supposed to be 2% of the population and super rare, but we have 3 on this page alone. Maybe Logician/Architect types are typical programmer personas
i got INTJ-A too
Funny how INTJ is supposed to be 2% of the population and super rare, but we have 3 on this page alone. Maybe Logician/Architect types are typical programmer personas
Well it makes, you need logic for programming :).
I just wanted to see what is typical persona of programmers, and it looks like the most commons is I - Introverted, I - Intuitive, others are quite fluctuating/changing.
Sorry to break it to you guys, but the test is pretty much bullshit.

To be fair, even some of those articles go "MBTI bad", The Big Five is much better! When the difference is really not all that large(look, it adds one trait!)
Trying to determine "personality" with a test like this, is pretty much futile either way, but it's just a fun thing (or ego-stroking, whichever you prefer).
So even the replacement is honestly a big piece of crock :v:
But hey! More pseudo-science is always nice.
Any kind of test like this will inevitably produce unpredictable results, and the "science" behind it, well, isn't.
What's scary is that some business owners enjoy using tests like these to determine "culture fit" or similar within a company.
It's still interesting to read though, just keeping in mind to not take it too seriously (because it approaches horoscope-level).
"Culture fit" is in general a really dumb thing to use for hiring.
Eh, personally I'd prefer to work with people who share my interests, attitude etc. - culture in general.
Which for me includes "no suits please, professionalism is a relict".
It's probably not the greatest strategy for getting the most productive team (though getting along does matter).
INTP is the classic programmer type
source: my Myers-Briggs is also INTP-A or ENTP-A depending on mood when I take the test
I have no idea what this test is actually useful for though. You can normally see from the questions which attributes they will affect, so the result is basically "Hey, you said you like to plan ahead, so we think you like to plan ahead"

It's ok, I don't expect some internet website to know everything about me. It's awesome that it was consistent for me on 3 times in span of 2 years, but it seems that it fails for some other. So, you might be correct.
Still better than horoscope :v:.

Some things are hidden in plain sight.

I'd say there is a big difference between sharing interests and having compatible attitudes, if you end up fostering a mono-culture, there will be no learning.
Isn't it great when you go outside of your comfort zone to learn about new things, perhaps things other people are interested in?
Besides, the thing about suits was meant to say that "requirements" exist in every group, even in the group which claims that suits are some kind of "conformity device" and they only care about "merit", not what you happen to be wearing.
When you foster this kind of kind of culture, you cut out such a large portion of people you'll never be aware of that you would even able to get along with, because you never tried.

In my own terms, I'd call myself a driven, unorganized dreamer. I always think creativity and a drive to see it come alive is more important than pure logic. Logic is just how you connect the dots.
This is the most interesting personality test I've taken. Of course I get the fucking engineer.

Since a lot of these are relatively open-source I had the idea of taking every single of whatever dubiously accurate test there is and rolling them up in a nice package with deduplicated questions where easily possible.
It would be a stupid amount of work for what comes out of it though, especially since afaik "professional" horoscopes are annoyingly complicated and I'd have to figure out how to handle non-answers.
I took this one a while back in English, where I got ([editline]edit[/editline] Found the graph!):

This time I did it in German:

The difference could be because of the translation, but either way it doesn't sway in any particular direction much (as usual). Here's what it says in rather broken German:
- without a doubt the right hand of the devil
- shredders arguments and beliefs, leaving the confetti to the wind for all to see
- does the above just for fun
- yada yada
- “The Joker” from Batman series
:what:
(This actually in part describes me somewhat well when I engage in anything resembling political discussion, but it's very unlike me when I'm programming or researching science, or doing pretty much anything else. It's also about 50% largely inaccurate no matter what I do.
If I'm not mistaken this is the third unique result I got from this test, so far.)
