I've been trying to figure out how to do it. No luck. I've learned myself almost everything else in milkshape, but this one I can't seem to figure out myself. I would aprecciate If someone could describe/post-pictures of how to do it on just a single joint :)
What I give you is one huge step closer to releasing my PMC's.
Edit:
No need to anymore, I've learned.
This post is actually quite high up in google. I asked the same question. Now I've learned too but I will post my findings here for others to see.
If you select a particular set of vertices within one of your model groups that are affected by a joint you can alter how much they follow the animation when it plays. You do this by choosing the joints you want them to be affected by in the drop down boxes in the Joint tab. Choose a particular joint for the vertices you want to be affected and move the 100 percent slider left and right. For example, vertices right near a joint's pivot should not be affected by it at all, you would set these to ZERO '0' on the slider and this will make them stay put so you don't get a hole opening up in the mesh when say a head nods or an arm waves. Most of the other vertices in the mesh affected by the joint should be set to '100' or very near to it. Experimentation will very quickly yield your own skill in this area. Seems to be quite a natural talent we all have to judge it.
You can also combine joints in the effect by selecting more than one in those drop down boxes. I think you're allowed a maximum of 4.
Ah so thats how you do it, been trying to figure that out for ages, and I don't see how it took me so long now O.o
