Hey there everybody!
You know the kind of guy that watches old shows and then wonders why they got cancelled? Well, that is me. Until I thought to myself, let's bring back Earl.
Anyway, I am currently working on creating some My Name Is Earl models. I always thought it would be great if somebody made a model of Earl so we could run around in GTA doing nothing but bad things for karma to strike us down. Here is a preview of Earl:

Btw, I have not finished his hair yet, although it is a pretty nice fit.
I am also going to start work on Randy or maybe Crabman after. What do you guys think?
The hair is way off, the face seems neato. I'm intrigued.

Yeah, the hair is just a temporary thing. :)
Nope! It's just Chuck Testa.
You gave him David Spades haircut.

Here's an update on the hair. It's almost perfect but always open to opinions :) Thanks for all your interest guys, I appreciate it :D
The original hair makes him look like Dave Grohl
Here's a preview of Randy! He's not got his hair yet.

I just accidentely lost his model, but I will try to make it again afterward, and maybe improve it too.

Here is a preview of Crabman! Again, no hair, that's my last priority.

They look alright for a start. However I have a feeling they would benefit from having their facial hair being modelled as opposed to merely being textures. I dunno if bump mapping will be sufficient for good face-hair renderings.
Are... Are you using FaceGen?
I was thinking that about remodeling the facial hair, I may do that eventually as a finishing touch, and yes I am using FaceGen, it's great.

Why not? I am not very good at modeling from scratch. It's going to give the most accurate look overall. ;) Let's try not to degrade me here.

Here's done Crabman, always room for improvement, so as I said before any opinion is appreciated, so long as it isn't criticism of FaceGen for my models development. :)

i would fuck these models they are so sexy
how are you making the hair?
I look for models on the internet, like there was this deviant art user who uploaded a load of hair meshes from The Sims 3, so I have heavily edited them to make them look more like the respective characters hair, like Earl's I had to fold down the vertexes at both sides of the front of his hair, to get it to look bang on like his hair in the show. I modified a Sideshow Bob afro for Crabman, but lowering the polygons and adding him an extra hair 'scalp' underneath the afro so it mimics his look more. Thanks for taking interest. It's Randy next! Maybe Joy afterward.

As much as I should probably agree with you, my first attempt at a face from scratch could probably serve as a genuinely scary halloween mask instead.
Here's my Earl for San Andreas:

He's still a work in progress, as I am going to custom design his shirt to match the one in the opening title, but when I get him looking decent enough body wise (think I mastered the head now), I will port him over to GTA IV and maybe look into getting him into the source engine if he get's any more popularity.

Just got him to work in-game:
Still gotta do his shirt and fix the neck texture, but beside that he's pretty much done. I may release this soon.
Fixed and Final Earl:
May make his title sequence shirt still, but going to do other characters first! :)
EDIT: Here's another screen in better quality:
Here's Crabman (needs a little work but nothing major):

He looks like a tree.

Yeah, I always thought that! In one episode he got called 'Shrub Head' by someone and I couldn't stop laughing. I love that show.

No we mean, literally a tree.

Oh, cause he's black and represents bark? Nice try. :)
I know, I couldn't find a better afro model, I will try again when I have more time on my hands instead of going the Sideshow Bob route.

Could you imagine Chia Pets coming out with new wearable Chia Wigs? Would you grow your own foliage hair if you could?
