Seeing as how I'm sure Kleiner has had Lamarr for a while and since she's been debeaked, she hasn't been biting into anyone lately. So, why then does she have blood on her?
Could someone work up a clean version of the headcrab texture (the higher the res, the better) and hex it to the Lamarr model?

Would you really want to risk giving a Headcrab a bath though @.@
I'll have a look at the texture see what its like (i'm guessing it just uses the Headcrab texture and that why its like that).
Thank you kind sir.

Ok i've had a look deblooding it it looking to be quite difficult, but re-colouring it weirdly doesn't recolour the blood so I could make multi-coloured headcrabs if anyone fancies :)
I will have a go at choppping it up and just recolouring the bloody bits to see if I can get then to be normal headcrab colour (as i'm no texturing expert so therefore cannot just remake it as you would like).
(it does just use the headcrabsheet.vtf btw).
Edit: Ok having real problems selecting just the blood in Gimp, anyone know an easy way to select it?
Edit2: Made a bunch of multicoloured Headcrab skins. Anyone want em hexed onto Headcrabs because I don't know if I can be bothered tbh.
Ok, couldn't get the blood to select so I tried out the recolouring :D

Great, we are going to have a rainbow of headcrabs humping our heads.

Hehe :P
If you do get the skin sorted. I'll recompile Lamaar to use it as a custom sheet.

You don't need to recompile it if you just chaging the skin all you have to do is either name the .vmt the same as the one it uses (which would't be a good idea here) or you hex the Lamar model to look for whatever you called the new skins .vmf (which would need to be the same number of letters though). Its still much easier than decompile/recompiling it.
Also I don't think it would be difficult to make those Rainbow Headcrabs into NPCs, so anyone want them (for it to be worth the hassle).
And I could still do with some help on workiing out how to use the GIMP area select tool thingy to select the blood (as it seems to select everything but the blood no matter what I click on).
Don't use select tool.
Use the colour changer?
I use CS2 so I can't help much.
But recompiling would be much more efficient than hexing.
[QUOTE=ViralHatred;16725114]Don't use select tool.

The colour changer changes everything excpet the blood (a la the rainbow headcrabs above) so its not that useful for it.

How is it better than hexing, if you hex it nothing is changed other than the texture, whereas if you recompile it it could be altered just by the fact your using a different compiler to the original.

Use the color select tool to get the majority of the red, then colorize...
About 2 minutes in GIMP. If I had 'shop, I could actually do it given some time, I'm sure you could airbrush it and choose a more matching color to make it look better.

You use the Valve compiler then.
Hexing is also just changing a number.

She's obviously been eating ALOT of watermelons and they've smudged all over her mouth.
They make great Pets. :words:

And how exactly do you know that She might have attacked a Rat or a Bird or something.

I use studiomdl (as its the only one I can get to work properly).
Hexing is changing few numbers which dictate the symbols (letters and such) which are displayed and used by the engine, to my knowledge.

Also good one on the headcrab tex, you'll have to show me how you did that, as I still have no clue :D (though I really have no idea how to use GIMP that well, keeps crashing when I try to colourise stuff aswell ¬.¬). Though that pic does look a bit blurred, but mine kept doing that aswell for some reason whem I used the select tool and you've coloured the bits i was trying to avoid, but it works ok so nm :)
Gimme me a haller on one of my IM's (check my profile page) and I'll give you a step by step on how to do what I did.
Seeing as how my computer fried and I'm still without GMod (this skin is in preporation for a project I'm starting) I'll need you to see what me texture looks like in-game.
if you guys need help hexing i can do it for you

SHITTTTTT CRAAAAAAAAAAAB
...
i tought you got rid of that pest!
AWESOME! Now, if it were only hexed to the Lamarr model. THAT would be perfection!

It says it replaces the Lamar model if you look in the description (which is what you wanted in the first post).
Edit: oh I see it replaces the headcrab texture aswell, easily fixed
