These links don't work. (well technically it says your not allowed to link whatever your trying to from a forum.)
well then go on trekmeshes.ch > Download Meshes > I Agree > Select Canon Federation ships > Keep pressing Next 5 till u find the Enterprise E Meshes. They are the first two meshes.
That seems like quite a bit of hassle to just to take a peek @.@ (also what format are they? and does hammer use normal models?)
those meshes are in multiple versions.. like 3ds or max. and thats why i need help i cant convert them in normal half-life 2 models.
I'm just going to assume that the "I agree" step is something about not releasing the models without their permission first.
It says you can but you have to give credit to the authors defined in the readmes supplied with the models (though I still can't get at said models on the site, the search just timed out). Though you do have to ask to distribute, so I will, if I do it.
The meshes and objects on the download page are mostly not my own creation, I collected them from several authors. As with any free mesh on the web, you may not use them for commercial purposes without proper authorisation from the autor(s). You may also not publish them in any way without crediting the author(s), and you may certainly not pretend to be the author. The original author(s) have put a lot of work in creating these meshes for you, and this is the only thing they ask in return. This doesn't mean you have to place the author's name in the picture you rendered for placing on your windows desktop, but if you publish the picture in any way, you must place the author's name in the picture. You may not distribute these meshes and objects unless you've got the EXPRESS AUTHORISATION OF THE ORIGINAL AUTHOR.
id love to have this done it go with the intrepid model and the galaxy class model thats out.
If someone can get into that site, find them and send me them that would be useful (as for some reason it wont let me search for anything).
You know, there are always the models on bridgecommander.filefront.com
Alright, I had a look at the first Sovereign-class download on that site.. It's about 1.2 million tris. Converted to *.OBJ from *.MAX ends up in a 162MB file. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome looking model, but this would need to be modified to actually run even somewhat efficiently in the Source engine. I think one of the Bridge Commander meshes with some decent normal/spec/diffuse maps would be much better suited. However this model would be amazing to bake normal maps off of. :3

cant you combine allot of them to be 1 big thing ps. im not a modeler idk what im really talking about but if its possible to combine some of these "tris" then try it.
cant you combine allot of them to be 1 big thing ps. im not a modeler idk what im really talking about but if its possible to combine some of these "tris" then try it.
I don't think you can without it becoming a box (like low poly boxy), though I think possibly thats what you could do with a normal map, is make a low poly version, bake a normal map by overlaying the high poly over the low poly and then the low poly one would be similar in detail to the high poly one.
The problem with the models at Trekmeshes, is that they are designed for rendering, not game use. I'd look at Star Trek: Legacy & Bridge Commander mods for models that could work in the Source Engine and look good. The only problem is getting the model files out.
No one pays attention here! APwnInTheDark is already porting the Enterprise E from Bridge Commander (I believe)!
Yeah, I was saying that a Bridge Commander model would probably be better suited - which is better though? Does Legacy have better models/textures than Bridge Commander, or vice-versa? Edit: ChaosLord, the OP originally asked for one of the TrekMeshes instead of a Bridge Commander mesh - only afterwards realizing how ridiculous that would be considering the complexity of said mesh. Where can one download APwnInTheDark's meshes? If there isn't a link ready for someone to grab, then I see no problem porting something that isn't currently available.
No one pays attention here! APwnInTheDark is already porting the Enterprise E from Bridge Commander (I believe)!
awpinthedarks suposed to be geting a miranda class he said he do for me.
Personally, I want to see the NEW Star Trek ships ported: http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Star_Trek_2009_USS_Enterprise;99468 http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/Star_Trek_2009_Kelvin_Fleet;100837
for some reson my bridge commander dosent work for vista wich sucks.
