So how would one go about the process of turning a ragdoll into an alyx replacement for hl2?
I tried on a whim to just port the files over to no avail. A quick forum/google search turned up with little to nothin.
Well, if it has the same skeleton you could try to decompile the model, include the Alyx anims in the QC and recompile as Alyx.mdl.
But if it doesn't have the same skeleton you'd have to re-rig it to the Alyx skeleton, and that's not as easy as it sounds :/
i just did this with another rag doll what threw me off is just decompiling and recompiling didnt do the trick i had to edit the qc and delet any lines that arnt in a decompiled alyx ( original) qc. that threw me off for a while. but that was with a ragdoll had the valve skeleton.
