Nope. It's officially "Garry's Mod", no number. If necessary, you can call the retail one GMod 10, but anyone calling it GMod 11 is either 1) misinformed, 2) trolling, or 3) a pirate (a quick search for torrents (for research purposes) revealed that many pirated versions are labeled GMod 11).

No, it isn't.

There was, at one point, a FAQ on Garrysmod.com that said, explicitly, that there isn't, and that no update would change the number. However, that seems to have disappeared with the new site upgrade.

I think most people count the engine changes as a new number.

So 10 would have been the original Steam version, 11 would be the Orange Box Engine (the current version), and 12 would be whatever engine Garry goes to next (most likely the Portal 2 engine).

But didn't Garry's Mod 10 have the EP2 engine or something? I remember moving from Gmod 9 to Garry's Mod on my old computer and having massive problems with memory etc.
