• Duplicate model with separate skin?

I pulled the flag model from a custom map dod_kolsch, it's a large German flag, I copied all the files and renamed them all the same thing + _american, I think created a new texture so there is an axis and allied flag, but in-game even though texture (Which I also changed including the file path within the vmt) to match the allied one, it still goes to the axis texture, how to I get around this? So the orig is naziflag (the 8 model files for it) + 2 texture files (vmt+vmf) Then I made naziflag_american (All 8 files to that are the same) + 2 textures (vmt (With file path changed to vmt) and custom vmf) Also sorry if posted in the wrong section but I don't see a sub help section for models.
you need to open the MDL with a hexeditor and change the mat path there.
