So anyone know how to make a head/face texture to look dirty on Gimp? also a tut to how to edit a hair texture to look messy and dirty. More or less like this, just a bit less dirty: [t]http://www.hardwareinsight.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/lara-croft.jpg[/t]
add a layer and add dirt....that's really about it. How good it looks is up to how good you are at making textures...
Not with GIMP exactly, but I'm aware of various different methods of making a dirty texture with Photoshop through the use of different brushes and various shades of transparent browns and grays mixed together in the appropriate spots. Assuming GIMP has brushes like that or has custom brushes that were made in those styles, you should be able to do the same thing; GIMP is fairly similar to Photoshop in terms of functionality, so it's possible to achieve the same results overall. TooLzor's pretty much spot on with it though; you'll mostly just be making a separate layer and adding what looks like dirt, but the quality mostly depends on how good you are when it comes to texture work.
yeah I use PS as well, never used GIMP so couldn't tell you the exact things to do. I have my brushes for doing that stuff in PS so I just go to it :P
