• How to converter .QC model for .VMF?
    8 replies, posted
I started to decompile a gold source model and I need to converter the .QC model to .VMF.
map files are not models. No real luck.
.QC files are not models or even near it, they are related to modelling but they are not a format of model. QC file controls behavior of model when it's compiled.
You can convert VMF files to SMD files which are used by QC files for those who can't really model, but you can't really do it the other way around. Just cut out the fine details and keep those as props and remake the basics like the floor, walls, and ceiling with hammer manually. You can get the dimensions of those from most 3d modeling programs.
I decompile a cry of fear model and appears only the .QC file.
You may not be decompiling it properly. Why would you ever want to convert a model to .vmf, though?

Unless you're doing mapping, .vmf is completely the wrong format. If you're trying to decompile source engine models then Crowbar can do that, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't work for goldsource models.
