I've made spawnicons for the gmod version if anyone would like to use them. Just save them to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\materials\spawnicons\models\super_smash_bros_u\characters\fighters\samus
...and replace the ones already in there.
The GMod model's been updated, the lack of fingerposing has been remedied!
How'd you go about fixing the fingers, out of curiosity?

I fixed them by creating the bones for what could be a right hand. Then I used the $definebone command on them and all the other bones, so the compiler and the engine knows they exist, even if unrigged.
Apparently gmod needs the model to have the 2 hands with its respective fingers so the fingerposer tool will work on said model. It's kinda weird but well..

It only needs ValveBiped.Bip01_L_Hand and ValveBiped.Bip01_R_Hand to be defined in order to work. The finger bones themselves aren't actually necessary unless there are actual fingers to pose.
It's a trick I've used for all sorts of one-handed things.
