I know it has been asked before at some point, but I thought I'd give it another try incase someone had success.
So. Does anyone have a clue if there is a way to obtain the Warthunder models? It really has tons of (unique) WWII aircraft I'd like to see and the quality seems to be pretty nice. Wings of Prey is kind of an alternative, but it only features aircraft of the European Theater and I believe that quality is worse than in Warthunder.
So, if anyone has a clue or another idea where to get pacific theater models (Battlestations pacific is... meh) I would appreciate it

Dunno if you'd notice but Professor Heavy has A LOT of tank ports on workshop, King tigers, SU series and a lot more. And it be impossible to port models from warthunder since everything is server sided. But who knows.

If you have a 32 bit OS you can simply use 3D Ripper DX to capture the models while running the game. It works well for me but getting all the textures is the tricky part. For me the ripper captures the lower resolution textures and doesn't always include all the normal map textures. I use an alternate method to extract the textures manually from the game files and apply them to the model in 3DSMax.
First, you must extract the game archives using the tool found here: http://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/155747-vromfsbin-resource-viewerextractor/
Second, you use the QuickBMS script to convert the .ddsx files to .dds files. The script is found here: http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=12177
Good luck!

Most of Professor Heavy's ports are from World of Tanks. Now, Wargaming has been getting kinda better, but their models are still pretty ugly, compared to War Thunder's.
However, OP's more interested in aircraft. And to be fair, War Thunder's aircraft have a shitton of details. Plus, most of them have detailed cockpits. Perfect for posing.

any chance you could rip some of the vegetation for me? Nothing but parts of the tanks rip for me sadly.
Hoffa1337 and his team rip models from War Thunder to use in their NeuroTec addons for Garry's Mod, he might be able to give you a hand
