Try
-debugfbx2dmx
they built the SFM fbx converter into the csgo studioMDL
Just tested it, you don't need to do any fancy shit just put $prefer_fbx above $body and it loads fbx natively.

edit:
You need to assign a material to the model with a bitmap matching the vmt name for textures to load properly.
Seems you don't need $prefer_fbx, it loads them fine without it.
The times of taking 8 hours to export to smd are over?

If i'm not mistaken the free version of Wallworm Tools for 3ds max takes several minutes to export smds. He's probably referring to that since other tools and programs take much less time.

Pardon the ignorance here, but why exactly does the free version take a few minutes to export the .SMD format? That seems like a slight flaw if you ask me, if not a cheap ploy to make people buy the paid version.
It uses a different export engine, the wallworm dev has a facepunch here and posts every now and then, you could ask him and I can guarantee he wont yell at you

The exporting method in the free version is probably a cheap one with low optimization. Since the dev decided to make a paid version with new features and optimized things, he also decided that the smd export method could be better and well optimized. Doesn't sound that bad to make the good one a paid version exclusive feature.
