• SciFi Citizen Face Poser Fix

I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix the models of the SciFi Citizen version 3 pack so that they have working eyelids. I know there's a version 4 on Steam Workshop, there are characters in this pack that I tend to use and they'd just look ridiculous if I tried having them sleeping or something. Apparently the latest update for gmod fixed only the common HL2 Citizens, but not the other specialized variants. Since I have no idea how to face pose...or moddeling in general, I'd like to see if someone...anyone could help me out here. Wow! Blast from the past! Okay so here's the deal. I have some version of the source files for this project, sent to me by Taggart. They were a bit of a mess, so when I did v4, I essentially just started over with new sources - I've never directly compiled any of the models from v3. Furthermore, I no longer have a pipeline to compile source models if I was familiar with them. I am also working full and part time, so I don't have the time to go through all that. All that said, I am willing to provide the source files to someone who is capable of doing the recompile, provided they actually intend on doing it. If you've got the skill and time, send me a PM, and I'll send you the files. To sweeten the deal, I'll throw in PSDs for the textures (if you want them), which would allow you to make further modifications on this ancient hack-pack.
Sounds great, but like I said, I don't know how to make models (I just use them for my gmod videos) and I don't really know anyone who's savvy with...uh, "recompiling source models"? But I'll think of someone. Also, what's "PSDs"?
PSDs, also commonly seen as .PSD, is a file format that's used by Photoshop. It's essentially an image that's still ready for editing in Photoshop, and most people that work with textures usually keep the .PSD files (or .PSDs/PSDs) in order to continue working on said textures or to create variations of them for later use.
Oh, you mean reskins? Well, I already had a downloaded reskins for those particular models for quite some time now, so I'm okay with that.
So...would you like to send me those source files, then? I think there might be one or two who could help fix them.
Have them talk to me. I don't mind going through the work of packing all of it up if I know it's going to be done, but I don't want to see my source files just vanish into the ether.
Drat...I couldn't find anybody to do it. But since I'm getting desperate, it looks like I'll have to fix them myself. So, is there some sort of step-by-step process for this, along with required programs? I already have Crowbar installed a long time ago, so that could be a start.
Actually, sir, I just made contact with TheInvertedShadow (a gmodder that once used these models as his stand-in character reskinned...which is why I've been trying to get help on this in the first place). He knows this person called BeardedDoomGuy who might be able to help out, should he accept to do so.
Hello? Anyone here? {:(
So...no answer back?
...Am I just talking to myself, now?
What you're doing is being extremely impatient and not paying attention to what was said. If you didn't read Lt_C's post, they stated to have the individual who might help you contact them first before they hand out their files.
Yeah, pretty much. It's a non-trivial amount of work to even clean up the files to had them off to someone, and I'd like to know who I'm potentially giving the source files to. I don't bite, I just want to know I'm not wasting my time.
Oh. So, BeardedDoomGuy nor TheInvertedShadow hasn't contacted you about the matter? I know T.I.S. knows about this subject, but BeardedDoomGuy's the one who could potentially fix these. However, because BeardedDoomGuy doesn't know (or probably even heard of) me, nor would probably take requests for a complete stranger, I asked T.I.S. to talk to him about the matter. There hasn't been an answer back, though... And sorry about all these posts, Katra804; I just tend to get worried about such things, and wouldn't realize this to be a sign of impatience... {:(
