Looks nice, I'm quite excited about 2 and 3 as well, though.
Do they have faceposing?
Hell yeah.
Oh my god, thank you!
Awsome
Do they have faceposing?
No.
I don't see the point in releasing them individually, but okay.
is it possible to rip BFBC2 models with the same way ripping the BO models?
is it possible to rip BFBC2 models with the same way ripping the BO models?
I saw a tool for fixing ripped BFBC2 model UVmap. but I'm not sure
Vietnam models are the most anticipated, imo. Cuban ones aswell. Hell, motorcycle cops would be better too.
Not those goddamn Russians that we have ample amounts of already. So I hope you have your priorities figured out when releasing them individually (don't know why a pack wouldn't be better).
i need moderately accurate us in vietnam
ITS
COMING
TRUE!!!
also someone has to make reskins of them in both erdl patterns
YES! Thanks!
THANK YOU You're Jesus. Now lets get some good 'Nam models.
Amazing! Truly amazing. Dl'ed the hazmat.

Don't expect too much. There's like one type of simple soldiers in BO and they don't even have the mitchell pattern on their helmets. There's only some more variations of the SOG ones but I'm not too sure on their gear being all that accurate.
Awesome!! >:| (I have a troll face on the inside)
God i whould love some BC2 models
Texture system is different from Source if I well remember. Something to do with white textures and overlays slapped on them.
THANK YOU You're Jesus. Now lets get some good 'Nam models.
not really
A Russian using an M-16? Blasphemy.
Okay, I'm going to teach you how to fix the bumpmaps because, accounting from experience, nobody knows how to convert heightmaps from Call of Duty games properly and it's very irritating. This is especially true because bumpmaps really make the models great. Do not use CrazyBump, nDo, Photoshop's NVIDIA normal maps plugin or any bumpmap generation tool. This is with Photoshop CS5 by the way, but any Photoshop will do. Hell, I believe it works with GIMP and Paint Shop Pro as well.
Here is the same bumpmap from this method below;
[t]http://uppix.net/b/8/4/66784b1af8bd37c860b4c75582550.jpg[/t]
Here is your method
[t]http://uppix.net/e/c/e/361dc511a85f1f41f6fc49f93f6b5.jpg[/t]
First, I downloaded some Black Ops winter fellow. He uses a heightmap transparent PNG. Open it and save it as a TGA. Before I edited this post I said DDS would work too, but save it as a TGA just to be safe.

Open it again. Go into Channels. If you do not have channels, go to Window and then make sure Channels is ticked.

Click on the Alpha 1 channel. If you notice, the alpha channel is the same as the red, green and blue channels, except it appears like it's from a different lighting angle. This is good. Press Ctrl + A to select all of the alpha channel. Then press Ctrl + C to copy what's in the alpha channel.

Once the alpha channel is copied, click on the Green channel. Press Ctrl + V to paste what was once in the alpha channel into the green channel. The green channel should now look like the alpha channel.

With the green channel still open, press Ctrl + I. This will invert your green channel so it is properly shaded.
One more step. Click on the Blue channel. You need to make the blue channel completely white. Once you have clicked on the blue channel, press Shift + F5 to bring up the Fill menu. Click on the "Use" dropdown box and set it to White

You can now click on the RGB channel, then go back to Layers

Your normal map is now done, but if you want to make it more "powerful" you may do so. While in Layers, press Ctrl + A to select everything. Ctrl + C then Ctrl + V to make another layer of the exact same normal map. On the layer that's above, click on the Normal dropdown box.

This should be the result when you're done. You shouldn't do this to every single normal map, but most Call of Duty bump maps aren't very powerful in Source as is.

I also recommend creating a Photoshop action of this method, so every time you need to convert a CoD heightmap to a normal map you press a button and it will automatically do it for you. That's what I did, and it takes the same amount of time as CrazyBump. Less, maybe, since you can make it save as a .VTF with the action.
[editline]30th July 2011[/editline]
CrazyBump's generation is okay at best. I'd really prefer if you just did this method, it doesn't look anywhere near as ugly.

Send me a link of a russian soldier in a hazmat then.
Will you be doing the blackbird?
BO Spetsnaz would be nice, though.

It's in progress. So, be patient.

There's tons of accurate ones during campaign at the moment I can't remember the name of the level but it's when you first arrive in vietnam it has tons of marines.

Yeah, they all have the exact same uniforms and exact same gear. As well as identical helmets and only like 2-3 different faces.
And I'm going to be releasing mine REALLY soon. I mean, like, REALLY soon.
