Trying to convert this OBJ to SMD, but getting an error:

plc_barricade_03_0.obj

The Groups and Image counts are not the same.
Groups: 17 Images: 1
How do I fix this exactly? I assume there's a way of either duplicating the images, or removing the groups?
Why don't you just import the .OBJ into 3DS Max directly and then export as an .SMD file?
I've tried with Blender, but when I tried to view the model in hammer/model viewer, the entire model had a black texture.
The process I used for blender was just importing the OBJ, grouping all of the objects (there were 17) into a single object, then exporting as a SMD.
After grouping all of the objects, I tried it with OBJ 2 SMD again, and the error slightly changed.

Can someone help me out? I've provided a .rar with the necessary files. Been stuck on this for a while. Would love to know how to get past it.

Why not just compile the OBJ directly with studiomdl?

I don't believe it's possible? I would love to be wrong though. I thought studiomdl only compiles .smd files after reading the QC file.
Compiles OBJ files as well if I remember correctly.
