VERGE is the new futuristic first-person-shooter mod currently being developed for the Source Engine by Culexus Development. The game has recently undergone some major changes due to certain personal loss, therefore we have remade the story completely and it still isn't fully done.
[b]The Story:[/b]
In the year of 2056, a private funded company called "TetraCom" has spread out over the globe, both economically and politically. The company has enormous influence on governments all across the globe, a group of eight congressmen forms a group and tries to fight the company. They become revolutionaries and "TetraCom" tries everything to stop them.
[b]The Style:[/b]
Since it's a futuristic game, it'll be filled with white and other bright "contrasty" colors, much like Mirror's Edge. Our main mapper has had his computer repaired for the last couple of weeks, so we can't really show any in-game screenshots.

Yea kind of, it's not very elaborate at the moment due to the personnel "lackage", but it will be fixed later on. We were thinking of using Google Wave for it (we have roughly 15 invites left for it so there should no problem with "getting people in.")

Wouldn't it be a better idea doing this in UDK, I mean, I've heard good things about UDK and shaders.

I have more experience with Source, mainly in the mapping "section". If we were going to start a Unreal Mod we'd first have to recruit a decent mapper and then optimize the story considering the new engine.
Basically: The Source engine covers all our needs.
Love to do some modelling,video editing and/or photoshop for ya.

If you can do basic modeling, rather low-poly props and such, then you are very interesting for us.

I guess I could join in as a prop modeller, I have no experience in making models for source but I can do low poly and I learn fast, tell me to model something for you as an example in case you want proof of skills.
That's no problem, we have enough experience with source modelling to teach you, hehe.

Yeah, those weapons were originally designed for the old story. Figured it would be a waste just to throw them away.

A good point, let me explain:
That mod failed because people left without telling us, leaving us with nothing but ourselves with ambitions that were to shooting to high, so we scrapped it. We decided to start a new "project" that wasn't so relying on other people this time (i.e. VERGE) but we still decided to ask for help - because otherwise we'll be "treading water".
