I'm somewhat new to modeling, but whatever-
how would I find what texture my model is looking for? It sort of gets annoying seeing purple/black textures with no error in console saying what specifically it's looking for. my textures are in the wrong place and I want to know what exactly the model is looking for when it goes purple and black. I know it's probably some stupid mistake just putting the texture in the wrong folder, but I want to know what I did wrong so I can move it to the right place. is there any sort of tool that does this?
The one that comes to mind is using XVI32 to open the .mdl file, scroll down to the bottom, and it will usually have the directories and textures that the model uses.
I think there may also be a way to check in the model viewer but I'm not positive.
There's a program calleld mdltextureinfo which lists all textures and texture paths the model should be looking for. Still won't tell you what's missing though.
