What do you think is the best software to use when modelling for Source SDK?
I'm not sure but i think 3DSmax is the most common used..

You can get a student version of it if you make a student account or something.
I think that's how it works.
yeh you can get a student version (free) if I recall that works for three years. You just can't make money out of anything made with it.
Beyond that point, 3dsmax or Maya, it'll be about your preference.
I made a student account last year with my normal gmail and it works but this year i have a school email so ill make another account in 2 years./
The thing is, I've been using Blender, but for some reason I hear people saying its an okay choice, but their are better ones out there.
