• My bull-pup rifle with working parts!

So, I'm still pretty new to Blender--but it's catching on pretty quickly. I designed a rifle a while back recently and decided I was comfortable enough in my modelling skills to cook this little baby up. If the music annoys you, just mute it; I tried picking something catchy. Keep in mind a few things: 1.) I'm still a noob at modelling, so go easy on me alright? 2.) I'm even newer at animation (I figured the basics out myself), so I apologize for this shitty fly-through of the model. 3.) When I posted this video, I was still not 100 percent done with the weapon--I've got a few things to fix, and a few things to add. Enjoy! It's nice to see something new than the same weapons getting ported over and over again. Great Job.
[SARCASM]You mean we don't need another AK?[/SARCASM] the model looks fine so far but it's not very interesting at this point. once you get it animated it'll be much more interesting.
I like realistic sci fi weapon designs. Nice work.

[QUOTE= once you get it animated it'll be much more interesting.[/QUOTE] You must have meant animated into a first person shooter right? Otherwise you meant textured, which I haven't learned yet. Either way, I appreciate the feedback. As a designer, critique is an important aspect of my life, good or bad.
i guess i just drew conclusions based on the first post. there are already so many guns for gmod that none of them really interest me anymore. thought you had modeled more of the internals, which is what i was referring to animating. it'll look nice once it's done but as far as i'm concerned it's just another gun.

I could make a working gun, but I'd have to read a little more books on mechanics, and at that point I wouldn't even bother putting in GMOD. I would patent the design for the U.S. Military and have it actually produced. Because I honestly don't know how much more detail you would want. I mean for fuck's sake you can see the bullet load into the barrel from outside the bolt at 1:14.
that's actually what i was hoping for but in my haste to skip over the text i missed it. much more interesting. and as for having a gun produced, it's not a simple as making something that fires any more, it's got to meet a shit load of specifications. but i digress.

I own a rifle and pistol and have taken both of them apart. Very complex, very complicated.
