So, a few folks in the other thread said they were looking for PW models like the PS Escorts, Snake, some weapons, etc. Well, after a series of trial and errors, I eventually found a proper setting on youtube that made run PW run...more or less. As a result, I was finally able to extract virtually every single nook and cranny dropped in the PW universe. There are still some model viewers, weapons, vehicles, levels, and NPC's missing, but hopefully I'll have the rest of them in within the week or so. *UPDATE* And with this, every single vehicle, weapon, and model viewer *that isn't in a bikini* is now ready. Great stuff thus far, guys, I'm hoping to get a few more of the NPC models in by the end of the night.
*UPDATE 3* Took a while, *getting some of these actually required trekking through abysmally laggy gameplay to get to some of these levels, but the end result paid off, I guess* but now, I'm pleased to announce that every single NPC has now been extracted from PW, as well as virtually every remaining level. Only a few more levels remain. The following levels are all that remain: the plantation, the opening CQC level, U.S. Base Lower Region, torture hall, the lower sector of U.S. Base, the swamp, the Jungle bridge, Amanda's hut, opening infiltration site. I'm unsure as to whether or not extracting Cocoon is even possible anymore. For whatever reason, it seems unable to load on jpcsp. *It's possible it was already extracted and is with the Mining Pit file, but I can't say with any certainty as its' textures appeared to be missing*. Shame the Mining pit's not working, it'd be pretty good for TF2 poses and poses involving big vehicles (particularly the Cocoon for obvious reasons)
Hmm, since Cocoon seems more or less beyond extracting, maybe I'll have luck with the Mining Pit if I just try extracting it from the 'Enemy Elimination' mission instead.
By any chance, are you guys having problems with the Snake model? I saw someone had already posted their progress which is good, but whenever I load it up in 3DS Max (2012), this is what I get: [IMG]http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a238/BigK7888/NakedSanta.jpg[/IMG] I'm unsure if maybe my settings are off or if there's something I'm missing.

You can delete the white polygons and it reveals the normal polygons underneath, not sure what it's for though, maybe some sort of specular setting. For completion here are the swimsuit versions of Amanda, Cecile, Paz and Strangelove. So I Believe that's all the static meshes from Peace Walker available now. In max itself, the face looks chopped up, with his beard completely bushed and browned and thickened, his eyes completely blackened, and what was white on his face either brown in parts or transparent all together. Would that method still help? Also, great work sir! Honestly, for the life of me, I couldn't get past the lag to unlock those models in viewer, heh. So very nice work.
Oh, for those ones you just have to copy the texture in the diffuse layer and link it to the opacity layer and put mono channel for the texture to alpha.
the white stuff is for face camo I thought.

Also, I seemed to have completely mucked up one rig I was working on. A tutorial said you had to attach meshes into a single base mesh, which I did. However, then came attaching the skeleton, and choosing joints became a feat of impossibility. There APPEARS to be a detach option for the mesh, however, it's grayed out for one reason. Is it at all possible for me to select and detach certain parts to the single mesh like say, an arm, or a head? *I apologize if these are all fairly straight forward techniques, unfortunately, I'm still relatively green with this field*.
[QUOTE=Doakes;38610888]Is it at all possible for me to select and detach certain parts to the single mesh like say, an arm, or a head?[/QUOTE] Yep, to do this, click the plus on your modifier (edit mesh etc), and first try selecting element from the drop down menu, then click the arm, if it doesnt select the whole arm you can select it all manually, but you basically make a selection and then the detach option will become available and you can make your selection a seperate mesh. you can also use the polygon option in the dropdown but I said element as, if you're lucky, the pieces could already be paired off into seperate elements.

Thank you very much man. But I'm having a little problem, everytime I import any of these obj files, they are broken up into triangle clusters of different shapes. Is this the way it's supposed to be, or my 3ds Max / Photoshop are being buggy?
Well, to be honest, I couldn't tell you. On Consistent Color, they tend to look more or less just fine apart from hair that has to be adjusted, however every now and then, I come across models that if set to realistic in perspective, it looks like that too. I'm unsure if it's a legitimate issue or if it's something that can be adjusted in the settings. I apologize if this wasn't that insightful, but hopefully someone more informed could address this issue for us, heh. Speaking of which, more progress from the PW front. However, a few XNALara models share an identical coat (minus the color) which, if you have the script for it, should make for a fairly straight forward mesh-mod. I'm sorry but would you mind posting some screenshots please?
I probably wouldn't be the best source for screenshots due to my many complications in progressing these models. For example, I applied The Fear's camo textures to the Commando model for an original character in my animation: [IMG]http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a238/BigK7888/WhisperingDeathTextured.jpg[/IMG] And like with Naked Snake's "Santa" issue with rendering, the same problems seem to have arisen: [IMG]http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a238/BigK7888/WhisperingDeathDefault.jpg[/IMG] On Maya, I've gotten two suggestions, either trying Gamma Ray or Opacity / Diffuse, but I never seem to really know how to apply either in Material Editor. Hopefully I'll get the hang of this so I can start providing more than just the static obj's, heh. Speaking of which, I'm working on getting the MSF Female operative out there too, so that'll be up at some point within the next day or so for folks who want it.

The one in the rip is a little contorted XD [the rubber underside of the hovercraft body] Also, have you ever done any model extractions from Portable Ops? [i'm trying to hunt down a model of the RAXA]
