I am planning on drawing multiple views of the Viking from Starcraft 2 in Autocad for a college class. While looking for references I came across a thread on this site which in turn led me to this thread: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1004248 After downloading the pack, I expected to be able to find a way to view the models. I have downloaded a couple programs and also tried 3ds max, but I just don't know how to view the models. I searched google and used the search on these forums. Can anyone tell me if there is a plugin for 3ds or some free program I can use? I simply want to be able to view these models. I apologize if this thread is in the wrong forum, I just posted where I found the thread about the sc2 models.
Anyone? I just want to be able to view the models in a program.
you need to open the MPQ first and then there's an m3 importer for max. Works on max9 and later probably.
Are you referring to the MPQ in the game's directory or is it somewhere in the pack I downloaded and I just don't see it?
the ones that came with the game. The MPQ's might not be called MPQ's for the record. Some of the are the campaign files and similar. But you can still open them with MPQ viewers.
Got it to work, thank you very much for the help :) Now I just have to try and locate all the texture files in these MPQs.
It's best to just dump everything and have the texture folder set up in max. The materials get auto applied then.
