I just recently ported a model from WoW, but for some reason, the textures refuse to light up when I point a light at them. I made sure they're all vertexlitgeneric in the VMTs, but this happens:

As you can see, there's only a part of the chapel lit, and even though I pointed a light towards the blackened area (see the flying crate as proof that there is a light, and it's emitting), there's no illumination.
Is it a texture error? A model error? This happened before, but I just don't know what's wrong.
It's a model error. Go to your model in your model editing program and flip all the faces. Some programs when ripping tend to flip the faces, causing this weird shading.
If you go to your vmt and set nocull to 0 you'll see what having flipped faces causes.
Thanks, I'll try it ASAP!

I tried it, but it didn't seem to do anything at all. The pillars and the entire window area at the hall's end are still completely black from one side.
Are you sure the the model origin is not underground?
I'm pretty sure, yeah. Some parts of the model light up, but the pillars and end of the hall don't,
